The punkin line is by Katie Tabor. It began simply in 2007 when Katie decided to create what she otherwise struggled to find.... independent, edgy, responsibly-made, fashion for her two-year-old son, Sage. It all started with a hat, from there a decision to pursue a dream of working creatively from home, then the official launch of punkin in May 2009. Sage definitely inspires the line. Katie's belief in the strength of children guides the line concept. She feels really happy to match this with her enthusiasm for design and fashion. She loves to juxtapose edgy, punk and classic, pretty elements in her clothing. Sustainable, eco-friendly fabrics are used frequently in the line. All design, sewing and printing is done in studio, in Crescent Valley, BC Canada (near Nelson), where Katie lives with her family, Adam & Sage. A self taught designer, Katie has worked previously as a socialworker with youth at risk, and kids and adults with disabilities.

A portion of all punkin online sales are donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Canada, to help support and empower Canadian children. Punkin is a proud reflection of independent women in business, from the graphic design and photography elements, to many of the boutiques & galleries that carry the line.
